The Stock Virtual game works by dividing the system in many contests. These contests contain specifics parameters that let you practice for wide or close environment. This mean that for some contest you will be able to do limiting move and for some you will be as free as in real life. This can be frustrating at first to be forced in some contest to keep an action in your wallet or more than few hours or to only invest on action that has a price over 5$ but in the long term these restrictions will improve your skill by moving you in some situation that normally you wouldn’t go.
Create an account
To play in the virtual stock market of Stock Virtual you must register. This step is necessary to be able to come back later and to continue to invest in the same wallet. To do, you have to click the first link in the top-right menu called “New Account”. You will have to insert minor information like a nickname and little other information. To be confusing with the Validation Code, this is a security code that ensures that every contester is really a human. Once you create your account, you will receive an email with a link; simply click on this link to activate your account.
Join a contest
Now it’s time to start to play in the virtual market. To do, first login with your account by clicking the “Login” link at the top-right menu. This should be the second link from your left. You need to enter the nickname and the password and press Enter. After, you need to join one or many contest. To do, simply click at the top-right menu the link “Contest link”. This will give you a screen with 2 parts. The left part is your active contest that should be empty first because you haven’t joins any contest. The right part is for Active Contests and this is the entire current available contest that you might be interested to join.
Activate a contest
You have now joined one or many contest; you are now ready to invest your virtual money on real business by buying their actions. First, you need to activate the contest on which you want to invest. To do, click the top-right corner link “Contest List”. This should be a familiar screen. Now, one the left square click the contest that you want to invest. This will display a new “Contest Menu”. This contest menu is easy to recognize. It’s blue, under the logo of the website and contains about 5 links.
The first one is “Contest Home” that will simply give you back all parameters for the contest.
The second one is “Buy/Sell” and this is where you want to go to buy action of business.
The third one is “You Stock”. This is your wallet with all your stock. You can see a graphic of your performance since the beginning of this contest, all active order that is waiting in the market and a history of all your transactions.
The forth link is “Competitors” and is a list of all contester that has join the same contest like you. This is interesting to be able to watch your performance against them or simply to take a look on their wallet and learn from their actions or transactions.
The fifth link is the “History” of your transaction. This is the page to go if you want to know what’s going on with your order that you have placed in “Buy/Sell” page.
The last link of the menu is some statistic about the contest.
How To Buy Virtual Stock?
To buy stock you need to know the symbol of the company. Stock Virtual use the same syntax of Yahoo Finance. You can find symbol by going on Yahoo web site. Once you have a symbol you have to enter it next to Symbol (in the textbox). After it’s time to enter a Limit Price and a Stop Price. Depending of if you buy or sell, the price of these two fields change. Let start with the buy scenario. If you want to buy you need to enter a Limit Price equal or above the current price. You can see the current price at your right. The Stop price indicates when the system must check your Order. If you really want to buy you must put a price under the current price. This could be simply 0.01$ Once you have the symbol, you can buy more or sell a part or the whole package. The Limit Price requires being lower or equal of the current price and the Stop Price must be over the current price. The last step is to fill up the volume. Beware that you must enter a price and a volume with the amount of money you have or less.
Once you have fill up all fields, you can press Proceed and your transaction will be queue for few minutes. The time is around 18 minutes because all prices are not in real time and to have a fair system for everybody; it takes about 18 minutes before the transaction is preceded. After 18 minutes the system will try to process your transaction. You can see the status of your waiting transaction in the queue below the Buy/Sell form. You can also check the history of how to system accepted or refused your order in the History tab of the contest menu.
How To Get Reputation Point?
Reputation point can be accumulate during contest with performance or by doing some action on the system.

- Request for split refused: -5 reputations
- Request for a symbol change refused: -5 reputations
What give reputation point?
- Join a team contest : 0 réputations
- You can vote for split : 10 reputations
- You can vote for changing symbol name : 10 reputations
- You can submit a split : 35 reputations
- You can submit a symbol name change : 35 reputations
- Right to search user : 35 réputations
- Know who is following you : 100 réputations
- You can join contest that require a minimum of reputations
- With 50 reputation you can configure all widget preferences without having a premium account.
